Twente vs Ajax Prediction

I just like what Ajax has to offer here despite the recent record of Ajax going to Twente. They are such a strong side when they are on their game, and they have been on it for most of this season.  Twente aren't going to sink into relegation and probably won't realistically fall much further, but I do not expect them to stop their slide in this match.  I like Ajax here for the away win to keep the pressure of Feyenoord.

Bernat Celina is the man to watch for FC Twente.  The man that is currently on loan from Manchester City has been linked with Borussia Dortmund, and that is a very telling link if there ever was one.  Dortmund have turned players that were either unheard of or underrated and made them into world class superstars.  Celina being linked to them is feather in his cap.  He'll need to control the midfield battle for Twente to have a shot at stopping the Amsterdam side.  

Team Form

In their last five matches, Twente have drawn four times and lost once.  They are definitely trending downward after a 0-0 draw at possible relegation contender Willem II last weekend.

Manager Peter Bosz will be unable to call on talented right winger Bertrand Traore, fellow right winger Vaclav Cerny, and central midfielder Daley Sinkgraven.  He will also be without the suspended central midfielder Nemanja Gudelj.  

Key Man

Davy Klaassen leads the way for Ajax in both goals scored (12) and minutes played this season.  No one else is even close when it comes to either.  Both are very impressive, but the fact that he constantly plays is huge for any team.  Klaassen is a focal point for Ajax and it will be interesting to see if he is the most influential of the central midfield players.

Ajax are unbeaten in their last five matches (and beyond) having won four times and drawn once.  The draw was a 1-1 result at Standard Liege in the Europa League.  Ajax had already sewn up the group.

Ajax are on fire at the moment. They haven\'t lost in their last twenty matches, and this is looking like it is hardly the time for them to be losing again. Twente\'s performance has been poor over the last month or so, and Ajax are turning into the juggernaut of old. If they continue this form, Feyenoord will have difficulty holding them off at the top.
