Certainly, the Over 2.5 Goals mark is a smart betting investment at 8/11; these two teams just offer up goals in their respective home and away outings.

And a correct score….well, that’s tricky here. But a small stake betting on 3-1 to Lyon at 11/1 is certainly worth a try. 

They are an easy team to like are Lyon courtesy of their attacking play at all costs, and while that can occasionally be a hindrance to their progress we suspect it might work quite nicely against a Rennes side that is extremely vulnerable on the road. A goal-laden home win is likely.

Lyon are excellent going forward and that is largely due to their outstanding frontman, Alexandre Lacazette.

An unusual 0-0 draw with Sevilla – it’s very rare for Lyon matches to finish goalless – signed off their Champions League campaign, and that comes on the back of a run of four wins from five in Ligue 1; albeit all against sides from the bottom half of the table.

Certainly the most interesting Rennes player is Kamil Grosicki, the Polish winger who can deliver a performance ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Rennes lofty league position is based on their home form (W7 D2 L0) rather than their away (W1 D1 L5) and so Lyon must be licking their lips ahead of this match.

Lyon continue to be the most unpredictable side in Ligue 1, and with just one draw in fifteen starts we can see that they are an exciting \'all or nothing\' style team. They should enjoy themselves against a Rennes side that hates playing away from home, however; the visitors concede at a rate of greater than two goals per game on their travels.
